Islandview Village is the western gateway to the Villages community. The eclectic array of stately turn-of-the century homes and smart, mixed-used infill developments define an area that is helping “pull” the entire Eastside closer to Downtown without compromising the historic grandeur of the neighborhood. Islandview’s location places it close to everything from the Detroit River and Belle Isle, to Downtown and the RiverWalk.
East Grand Boulevard in Islandview Village is a part of the greater Grand Boulevard artery that spans the city from east to west. The thoroughfare leads automobile and pedestrian traffic through Islandview to the MacArthur Bridge and Belle Isle.
On East Grand Boulevard is an eclectic array of larger historic and older homes. From eldercare facilities, to beautiful and grand apartment buildings and single family homes, East Grand Boulevard is a unique mix of residential and commercial offerings.
Islandview Village is also home to Messiah Housing Corporation, which has been helping revitalize the area since 1978, and English Village Brownstones and Lofts , a development of 78 market-rate, brick townhouse condominiums and 19 lofts that fit seamlessly into the aesthetic of this already charming area.
